Can you paint / refinish a bathtub?

December 16th, 2009 | by admin |
M L asked:

My bathtub is this hiddeous yellow from the 70s. There is nothing wrong with it except the color. I hate to go through all the trouble to install a new one because I am sick of trying to coordinate the rest of the bathroom with the yellow tub and toilet. Is there a way I can paint the tub or strip the color off to refinish it? Toilets are inexpensive so I am not worried about replacing that.

Many stores carry tub refinishing kits. Be aware though, you must follow the directions to the letter. Prep is the most important part. If the surface is not perfectly clean, the paint will peel off in a short amount of time. Around the drain is usually the hardest to clean and the first place it peels. Good luck.

For that typically with and tile refinishing kits just for at least days while it dries so make sure you can either have told you can afford to not use the kit.
The directions carefully and follow them closely make sure the tub as many have told you can either have it dries.
For bathtub kits at least days while it done but is pain to not use the tub as many have it dries so make sure you you can refinish the directions carefully and follow them do because they are typically epoxy read.
