Does anyone know how to get rid of bathtub refinishing odor?

June 10th, 2010 | by admin |
DR asked:

I had my bathtub refinished yesterday. 24 hours later, the smell is still present–smells like nail polish and paint. The contractor did use ventilation, but I was wondering if there is something I can wash the tub with to get rid of the odor. Or does the odor just go away with daily use?

Ask the contractor who did the job how long it will take to cure. Also ask what cleaners are safe to use before it is fully cured and after.

Take a few (clean) socks and fill about 3/4 with coffee grounds - yes, fresh coffee. It will absorb the odor.
