Terri asked:

I know it can look bad and all, but I want to know if it is impossible and if anyone has actually had some experience with this.
My tub is old and it is ruined. The finish is completely gone on most of the floor. It is a small bathroom, and this tub was placed in before the walls were finished out, so it would have to be broken in to pieces to remove. That’s not do-able right now.
Also, I know you can have them professionally re finished, but that is not do-able right now.
I want to hear from people that have done this. How did it turn out? Any advice?
I mean, my tub is ruined right now anyway, so it cannot get worse.
Oh, there is no window in the bathroom to vent, only an overhead exhaust fan.
(by “ruined” I mean it is useable, it just looks terrible and the bottom surface is rough due to finish coming off)
Edit: I do own the home, I’m just trying to buy some time until I can afford to have the entire bathroom remodeled.
ummm, good point about the liners, that is gross! lol (bad stuff growing underneath, didn’t think of that, yuk!)

Question posted courtesy of: Andrew

Jenny C asked:

We were given a beautiful green marble bathtub. Made by New Orleans Marble. It’s the deep drop in type. When my husband was dropping it in, he didnt ask for help to put it in and broke 2 corners, also, after closer inspection, the bottom of the tub is cracking and peeling. It needs to be refinished. I’m wondering if I can be pointed in the right direction as to how/if we should refinish/repair it, have a professional do it or get rid of it and buy a new tub. We also have the one piece sink/counter-top to go with it. We live in Louisiana. Any websites to visit or directions for this? Thanks!

Question posted courtesy of: Jo
