get some hammerite prep the surface with a light sand and its easy from there on.

I’ve got one too. I gave it a good wash and painted it with vinyl silk paint. has been fine for last two years. I painted it to match bathroom-pink on tub and silver on legs and feet. Looks a million dollars.
