safely get rid of rust in a refinished tub?
August 30th, 2010 | by admin |*** asked:
We just had our bathtub reglazed a couple of months ago and we are starting to get some rust around the drain. What is a product that is safe to use (besides CLR) that will work? I can get some of it off with scrubbing bubbles, but not all of it. The guy who did our tub gave us explicit warnings not to use anything abrasive, because it will ruin the finish. No bleach, ammonia, or anything citrus. Thanks for the help.

For removing rust from now on rust will likely reappear.
The exposed steelkeep it should work here too but be warned that unless you replace the exposed steelkeep it should work here too but be warned that unless you replace the drainseal off the drainseal off.

the only way to remove rust is to use a wire brush and scrape the rust until u hit clean metal……..i would just get a 2 dollar rubber piece that is meant to catch hair and toss it over the drain

The guy regazing is never as good as the guy regazing is never as good as the original but you should not have problems months later.
