What do contractors use to refinish a bathtub?

Samantha Ivy’s Mommy asked:

I’m pregnant and just had my bathtub refinished or reglazed…I’m not sure what they used I know they said chemicals, I can still smell the paint throughout my house. What do they use?

You should contact the contractor who did the job for you. It all depends on what your bathtub is made up.
That chemical smell is not good for you to be inhaling during pregnancy. Keep you house aired out for now, and find out what they used. Try to keep the bathroom door closed and open the window. Hopefully, you have one. If not … turn a fan on, and avoid inhaling.

many use automotive paint, it looks good for a few short years and then it get dull or starts peeling, if it is kinda sweet smelling it is probably IMRON paint a week or so it should dissipate with the use of an exhaust fan

The public really should have read the directions and it is not currently illegal.
The paints are dangerous enought that the warnings or just plain dont read the paints are dangerous.
